Tomorrow and Today

Tomorrow and Today, 2025 Pendant by Lani Teshima.

Lani writes, “The three kanji characters essentially make up “tomorrow” and “today” — the middle symbol 日 is the character “hi” (“hee”), which also happens to mean “The Sun”. The character on the left (明) means “light” — when combined with the middle character, it’s read as 明日 -“- “ashita,” Japanese for “tomorrow. The character on the right (今) means “now.” When combined with the middle character (今日), it means “today.”
Q: What is it made of?
Lani also writes, “It’s a sublimation blank. I suspect it’s made of MDF (medium density fiberboard) covered with a polyester layer to take the sublimation. I considered using a metal sublimation pendant instead, but decided against it for this year (I wasn’t sure if the metal might get too hot to the touch in the sun; maybe I’m paranoid!).
