Sea Core
Sea Core, 2012 Patch.
n 2012, Sea Core was part of the Circle of Regional Effigies (CORE) project at Burning Man. As part of the event’s “Fertility 2.0” theme, 34 regional groups created art projects that were placed around the Man and burned together on Thursday night. The Sea Core camp was the regional group representing the coastal community of Long Beach, California.
Details about Sea Core and other regional effigies from 2012:
- The project: The CORE project gave each participating group the creative freedom to design and build an art piece that reflected their local culture.
- Sea Core’s art: Although specific details about Sea Core’s art installation aren’t readily available, other regional art projects included a lobster from Maine and a dragon’s head from Ireland, which gives a sense of the creative diversity within the CORE initiative.
