Michael writes, “On the front, the composite image is of the ‘07 GreenMAN, partially burned on Monday night by an arsonist during the lunar eclipse, which I happened to be out photographing late that night. The images are of the MAN before, during and after the arson attack. The MAN was heroically replaced later in the week in time for the Burn. The first and only time I incorporated the theme on the front of the Playa Pass. On the back, I used one large image of red, white & blue flag playa so there are 6 different back variations.”

Origin: Having learned about BURNING MAN in late Summer ‘97 and not being able to pull it together in time, I had a whole year to plan for BM98. One idea I had was to use the laminator at my job to make for myself a backstage pass style tag. A co -worker who understood the Burner spirit, suggested that instead of just one, I should make a bunch and give them out, So I made 50 of them and found out at BURNING MAN that these laminates were an immediate hit.
