These pendants are an ongoing Burning Man project supporting Art of Trees which is a project to plant tens of thousands of seedling trees each year to replenish wood burned at Burning Man.

Melissa Barron and Tzipora Hoynik are among the most respected and influential makers in the history of Burning Man jewelry. Longtime participants in Black Rock City, both artists have established enduring traditions of commemorating each Burn with a limited-edition pendant. Their annual creations reflect the spirit, symbolism, and evolving culture of Burning Man while showcasing exceptional craftsmanship and artistic vision. Their work has become highly sought after by collectors and serves as a lasting record of the Playa experience.

The work of both artists has been exhibited in major museum exhibitions, including the Smithsonian’s Renwick Gallery in Washington, D.C., as part of the landmark 2018 exhibition No Spectators: The Art of Burning Man. Their jewelry is also featured in Jewelry of Burning Man by Karen (Suki) Christians and Christine (Lady Bee) Kristen, with Melissa Barron’s work appearing on pages 88–89 and Tzipora Hoynik’s on pages 128–129, documenting their enduring contributions to the artistic legacy of Burning Man.
