Biography: Tzipora Hoynik

Ever since Tzipora was a little girl she knew that she wanted to be an artist. That’s what she told her father at 6 years old, even though she didn’t know exactly what it meant.
She started her artistic career selling beaded necklaces to her elementary school classmates for 25 cents and she’s never stopped. During High School she took a silversmithing class offered in the public school! Unheard of these days

Growing up in Los Angeles gave her the opportunity to take art classes at LACMA,, Barnsdall Park and private studio lessons as well, continuing her artistic education.

Always creating she eventually went to UCLA for a degree in Design and was able to study Photography, Glass blowing, Ceramics, Textile design, Industrial Design and more.
Although there wasn’t metal smithing offered, she found a class through public night school classes and started incorporating those designs into her already successful jewelry business. She found her “home” in silversmithing where it’s remained for the past 30+ years.

Color has always been the driving force in any of her artistic endeavors and continues to be through her current jewelry collection. Using Gemstones and precious metals, every piece is one of a kind, always inspired by the stones she selects.

Tzipora has been going to Burning Man since 2007 and has designed and made many jewelry pieces for art projects, fundraisers, camps and various Temples. Every year she makes a unique design that she gifts based on the art theme of the year. Her work was exhibited  2018 exhibit “No Spectators, The Art of Burning Man” at the Renwick Gallery of the Smithsonian American Art Museum in Washington, DC as well as other Burning Man museum exhibits. Tzipora is published in Karen Christians Jewelry of Burning Man.

“Being selected as one of the artists for The Wagon Masters Awards has been an honor and a wonderful part of my creative journey”
