Pryonauts and Jedi Alliance, 2012 Pendant by Jeoff McCabe.
Background provided by Steven Horowitz.
Steve writes, ” The 2012 theme I believe inspired two groups of artists to try and bring out truss pyramids that were inspired by the Mayan city of Tikal in Guatemala. I don’t believe the entirety of the project ended up being created on playa but alas, there were parts and dreams were crafted and the group had performances as part of fire conclaves involving and inspired by as well I believe.”
The thousand-year-old Mayan ruins of Tikal also doubled as the backdrop of the Rebel Alliance’s base on Yavin in Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. Tikal represents Guatemala’s most famous cultural and natural preserve.

These beautiful pendants are made from a thousand year old sculptural process called “Millifiore”. Geoff cleverly reinvented this process using Polymer Clay to produce these amazing pendants. This process typically is a number of glass rods of different sizes and colors are fused together in a log and cut into sections which form various patterns. Because it is hand made with many variations in its process, the pattern always has unique outcome with each slice of the log.
His work has been featured in Museums including the 2018 exhibit No Spectators, The Art of Burning Man at the Smithsonian’s Renwick Gallery in Washington D.C. and is published in Karen (Suki) Christians and Christine (Lady Bee) Kristen book, Jewelry of Burning Man. p168, 169.
