Scooter writes, “This was the one that gave me the idea to make my own. I awarded this patch to myself in 2015 when I managed to burn a small hole in my tent while lighting a stove.

I created a dozen different Merit Patches for individual Rangers to give away to anyone. (I stopped calling them Merit Badges, because that’s the Scouts, but that’s the inspiration and these are the same size.) I released three new designs every year for four years, beginning in 2016.
I produced 300 to 800 of each design, depending on how many preorders I received.

The instructions for the patches is that they should be awarded to any participant for extraordinary action (positive) or awarded as a consolation prize for unfortunate events. The water drop patch, for example, could be for surviving a rain storm with aplomb, or for becoming dehydrated and taken to Rampart Medical for IV saline.
There are 9 round patches, and 3 diamond (square) designs.”
