Biography: Bill Cass

Bill Cass is an artist and designer that studied illustration in college but then through a series of lucky circumstance found himself designing footwear for and internship at the Keds Corporation in Boston, Ma. After that almost comical start he was able to design for many of the best sporting footwear brands in the world. Converse, Nike, The North Face and Merrell being highlights. All that time Bill has kept on illustrating and staying creative doing his own art. His two magic loving daughters provided the inspiration that lead to protective dragons being painted on their bedroom walls and then finally coming to life as creatures (puppets but we don’t use the “P” word) that read bedtime stories. These creatures then found a way to shape their creative free time in the form of performances at festivals and even multiple trips to BurningMan. So,.. If you are walking around Playa and you happen to see someone with a deep orange colored dragon on his shoulders it is probably Bill. The adolescent Welsh Dragon is a “She” and her name is Copper.” You might also see his wife and co-creative Sam with her furry white and blue Himalayan Ice Dragon. Their name is Zuzu. You will find them both sculpted on Bill’s Pendant that will be gifted at this years Burn.
