Biography: David Kemper

I didn’t discover the joyous atmosphere of Burning Man until I was an old dog of 53, but immediately recognized that I had been a “burner” my whole life and just didn’t know it. To me, the highlight of the event is always the spirit of selfless giving, which I embraced wholeheartedly. Over the years, I have created art in a variety of mediums – cloth, clothing, metal, wood and rhinestone jewelry – all to be given away freely, reflexively coaxing a smile from each recipient. To me – now a really old dog about to turn 70 – there is no better way to live life. Most special are the other artists I have grown to know and love who all share the same core beliefs: When others are happy, we are happy, and art makes everybody happy!
